Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR)

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a highly effective psychotherapeutic technique designed by Francine Shapiro in 1987 for the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Over time EMDR has been modified and improved upon. It is now recognised in many countries and by many organisations as an excellent means of helping patients deal with traumatic past events.
